Cheaper to be a foot passenger and hire a car

I was returning a key to Enterprise car hire for a family member this morning. Got chatting to the guys there and they said they have had a huge surge in mainland based folk hiring cars on the Island over the next few months obviously coming over as foot passengers as in most cases it’s cheaper than bringing their own car on the ferry..
