Solent Cruises to the rescue.

For the first time in 200 years of paid ferry services to and from the Isle of Wight, one vessel from a charter company with the same skipper has operated two different routes on the same day. Solent Cruises vessel ALI CAT provided the passenger service from Cowes to Southampton and then the Portsmouth to Ryde service. This is due to the normal providers, Red Funnel & Wightlink experiencing technical difficulties with the regular vessels.
